Okay, so I know the blog has been quiet lately–but can you really blame us? The studio has been a madhouse this past week with an insane amount of new (and vintage) pieces showing up by the boatload. Or truckload, whatever. I promise next week’s new arrivals will make all of this silence well worth it…
PS: Meet Jessica, our latest NASTY GAL!

Just a preview of what’s coming to our new department this week! My favorite is the velvet power-shoulder blazer. I haven’t taken mine off since they arrived. And the studded lapel jacket isn’t so bad either…

Thanks to everyone who attended the sidewalk sale! We saw lots of denim, boots, and crazy 80s colored pieces on the stylish girls who made the trek out on Saturday. Wondering where the rest of those brownies went…hmm. Off to make another batch!

I’ve been searching high and low for a new version of the vintage motorcycle jackets we’ve sold for years–and alas, they are here! One hundred percent genuine leather and one hundred percent fabulous. Under $150 and coming next week. Love!

Vintage lynx fur jacket, Zara cardigan, Torn top, J Brand jeans, vintage Byzantine cross, vintage western bag, Jil Sander boots.
Went dancing with my good friend Sage the other night and found out she too has a blog. Who doesn’t these days? She snapped a few photos, and I guess this is what I look like when beer and champagne mix. Scary! I spent most of the night begging her to start posting photos of herself, since she is a serious contender for the “Most Stylish Friend” award. I am obsessed with that vintage Lynx (may be Coyote?) fur jacket at the moment.

Slightly embarrassed to admit I’ve been inspired by Rayanne Graff of MSCL. I never realized how miserable these kids were until lurking around on youtube for clips. I guess I was too young to know the difference when the show was in its prime…let’s see, what was I wearing Circa 1994? It would have to start with a turtleneck on top, tucked into pleated mom shorts that were then layered over floral leggings, then tucked into neatly folded socks and topped off with little lace up ankle boots (Sam & Libby, anyone?) I’m happy we’ve reached a point in time where we can pick and choose from the 1990s, aren’t you?

This week’s guest model is blogger Liz of Late Afternoon. I’ve followed her for a while now, and her style seems to only get better with each post. Liz warmed up quickly to our cameras and was so easy to style and shoot, especially considering it was her first modeling gig ever! Below are a few of my favorite looks, but I should also mention that she was a total sport when we put her in that technicolor jumpsuit…

Unnnh. Great vintage leather vests are so hard to find.

This one doubles as a snuggie.

Her favorite was this velvet jumpsuit.

Teal draping.

Pure deadstock.

Vintage Fendi suede coat, vintage lightning print top, vintage angora skirt, Nasty Gal glasses, Jeffrey Campbell buckled wedges.
This week’s shoots were some of my favorite yet! The first half of the day is always the most brutal, since I usually forget to eat breakfast and overload myself with caffeine. This look came post-lunch, of course. Expect to see everything (including those rad sunglasses) in the store next week.
PS: We have a super exciting new model coming next week who also happens to be one of my favorite bloggers…can you guess who?
